Dr. Harry Cheng

Hong Kong Medical Physics Consulting (HKMPC) was founded by Dr. Harry Cheng who serves as Director and Chief Medical Physicist. Dr. Cheng possesses a BSc in Radiography, MSc in Health Care (Medical Imaging and Radiation Technology), MSc in Management (Health Services Management) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and MSc in Engineering & Physical Science in Medicine (Medical Physics stream) from the Imperial College London. Dr. Cheng obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Hong Kong in medical physics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (DABR)-Board Certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics, Certified Medical Physicist of the Hong Kong Association of Medical Physics (HKAMP) (Radiotherapy Physics) and the Hong Kong Institution of Physicists in Medicine (HKIPM) (Radiation Oncology Physics).

Dr. Cheng was the Senior Medical Physicist of the Oncology Centre in St. Teresa’s Hospital, Hong Kong. Dr. Cheng is also an Honorary Assistant Professor of the Department of Clinical Oncology in the University of Hong Kong, teaching the Master of Medical Sciences (Clinical Physics in Radiation Oncology and Medical Imaging) students. Prior to joining St. Teresa’s Hospital, he served as a medical physicist in the Department of Clinical Oncology of Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. Dr. Cheng’s research and clinical interests include brachytherapy, intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), with an emphasis on clinical implementation of translational research, clinical trials, small field dosimetry, radiobiological modelling, adaptive radiotherapy and image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT).
